Personal Training Sunshine Coast and The Law of Attraction In Action

Vanessa starting the day off right !

So I realized that the Law of Attraction, “Getting in the vortex”and “Manifesting your stuff” isn’t just mamby pamby stuff. Little things have been manifesting in my life recently when I have done the emotional work to “get myself in alignment” and I have turned my attention to it . For instance, there is a girl, an “ex –friend / frenemy”, whatever you call it,  who I had a fall out with years ago for not doing the right thing by me. I forgave her after 3 years had passed, then she did the exact same thing 2 months later ( you know, money and friends don’t always mix ). Lately she has been thrown back into my weekly routine and avoiding the inevitable confrontation was making me anxious. I thought to myself if I happen to see her today, I will just make eye contact with her, give her a big smile and say hello.

Literally 12 seconds later she walked past me at the plaza and I did exactly that, and to the onlooker it was simply two nice people enjoying a friendly exchange. So that was great to experience, to let go and then a light bulb moment that I had manifested that chance encounter first with my anxiety towards it, then next with my focused attention.

Pete is really great at manifesting what he wants, he’ll drive along at woolies and he tells me in his head he says “and a park will APPEAR!” ( think the Magician from Sesame Street ) and within 2 seconds someone’s lights will turn on in front of us , or we’ll go around the corner and one will magically appear.

So how is it that the Law of Attraction can help you to lose weight with Personal Training Sunshine Coast ?

In simple terms the Law of Attraction basically states that “Like attract likes”. Whatever thoughts and feelings that you focus on the most will literally determine your future.

And contrary to what I thought, it doesn’t matter if you believe it or not, it’s still in action every minute of every day – so you might as well harness it’s power hey ? It’s like saying “I don’t believe in gravity so therefore it can’t be true”

But, if all we have to do is think about something in order to bring it into our lives, then why aren’t we all rich, perfectly healthy, and living happily ever after?

The simple answer is that most people – without even knowing it – don’t really think about what they want. They think about the fact that they DON’T have it. Now, if you’ll go back briefly to the definition of the Law of Attraction – like attracts like – then you will see that the reason why people don’t have the things that they want is because all they ever do is think about NOT having those things.

This same concept applies to weight loss and health just as efficiently as it applies to everything else. A lot of people want to lose weight, but rather than think about how wonderful their life will be once they have lost the weight, they instead think about how miserable they are because they HAVEN’T lost the weight!

So, my first homework to you is for you to create an affirmation which talks about how you WANT to look and act as if it is already a reality.

On my mirror I have used some temporary markers to write “I am a lean, curvy  9% figure and fitness model and athlete, I treat my body like a temple and I’m rewarded with a smoking hot bod!”

Every Personal Training Sunshine Coast morning I wake up and I say that to myself whilst looking at in the mirror. It can take a while to get used to it, but I tell you this is more effective of a fat burner than ANYTHING you can buy in a store. The great thing is, you can get really creative with it – you are only limited by your imagination don’t hold back and say it as often as possible throughout the day.

You’ll find this is the key to making the best choices throughout the day, seeing yourself and your body through loving eyes and actually realizing your ideal healthy body.

So, dream it up, write it down, put it in a place you can see it  NOW …. and then  DROP AND GIVE ME TWENTY ! ( Affirmations that is, not push ups ! )

The beautiful place we live in should inspire some amazing affirmations

PS. homework only works if you DO IT! So if you are looking for some extra accountability, write down your affirmation as a comment below, or better yet , hit us up for your complimentary fitness consultation valued at $80 so we can work out a REAL plan of attack for you :)

2010 Your Best Body Challenge Male Winner – Chris Cornford

Sunshine Coast Personal Training

I lost 17 kilos, 41 cmand 2 pants Sizes !

Week 1

8 Weeks ago I was almost 120kg eating enough food for a small family and had no energy. I found it hard getting out of bed, wanted to sleep after every meal  and hated looking in the mirror. I had no enery to play with my son and couldn’t help my wife around the house. I heard about the challenge and thought this was my cue to change my life. I wanted to have the energy for my wife and son and stop feeling like a big slow elephant.

Week 4

I was going great, I was seeing great results and already felt a lot better. I was finding the exercise addictive and was really proud of myself. From time to time I still struggle  the food, but I just stuck to it and the more I lost the more determined I got. Coke and subway cookies were the hardest to say no too but the longer I went without the easier it got to say no. My energy levels were on the way up so I decided to get some group training to get a few extra sessions in. I kept weighing myself every morning and if I put any on I would train harder.

Week 8

I have lost 17kg and it seemed to happen in the blink of an eye. I feel healthy and energetic. When you truly challenge yourself and succeed it is amazing how rewarding it is. In 8 short weeks I lost more than my son weighs and I find it almost comical that I ever let myself get like that. I increased my push ups by 19 and my run by 2 levels !Now I realise nothing tastes as good as being healthy slim and fit feels. I have also noticed I am getting a lot more work done and can still come home and play with Vinnie and clean the house. After seeing what a little effort can achieve I will never be me 8 weeks ago again!”

I lost 18.5cm and 8 kilos !

Week 1

After losing weight before my wedding last year, I found that the weight started to creep back on after the honeymoon was over. I tried to find motivation and used the excuse that now the wedding was over, I didn’t really have anything to motivate me. There were also many other excuses why I wasn’t exercising and was making very poor decisions about what I was eating which of course resulted in gaining more weight.

After a few set backs earlier in the year, I knew that I had to get myself back on the right track and my doctor also told me that I needed to lose some weight. I made the decision to join Sculpt Life again but of course the first few weeks weren’t easy – and I skipped a few training sessions and hadn’t really changed my eating habits much.

Week 4

Once the YBB Challenge started, I made a promise to myself that I was no longer going to miss any training sessions and also started becoming very strict with my food choices. It wasn’t long before I started getting some results which has only given me more determination. It has also flowed on at home and now my husband and I are both living a MUCH healthier lifestyle – and enjoying it!!

Week 8

I’ve FINALLY realised that I don’t actually need to have a particular reason to motivate me – that was just my excuse… Now the reason I’m doing it is because I love it, I feel great, and now it’s just part of my life.  Although my main goal has been to lose weight (and ideally, I still have around 20 -25 kg’s to lose), I’m not really worried about the actual number on the scales, but more about how I look and feel. I’ve also increased my fitness quite a lot and I’m starting to find that I’m trying to challenge myself more and starting to set myself goals regarding my fitness level.

For me, I don’t have a specific goal in mind or a finish date as to “when I finish my diet” as I don’t see it like that anymore – it’s now how I live and I’m confident that I’m going to continue on this path without any excuses since I’ve realised that I have to hold myself accountable!!

After seeing such great results over these last 8 weeks, I’m looking forward to what the next 8 weeks will bring!”

Brooke also improved her run by 1 minute and 6 seconds, her pushups by 5 and sit ups by 8 !

In the midst of mayhem, is it insensitive to carry on … or is it just our coping mechanism?

This morning I was trying to leave my home to come to the studio, and then a storm full of lightning cracked and made me squeal ( like a big girl! ) and thunder boomed and shook the whole house like a massive sub woofer. And my back yard looked like this…..

So, I stayed at home, we quickly ran down to the end of the street when it had subsided a little, and realised that the 20acres owned by property tycoon Harry Reed was completely flooded and it was a very ominous feeling.

Then I got back into bed, watched some Flight of the Concords ( I think that show is hysterical ) had a good laugh, realised the end of the world hadn’t happened, if anything it had calmed down a lot and thought … Now what ?

I dunno, is this the false sense of security that goes through people’s minds before their houses get swept out by water ?

There is so much happening at the moment, but I guess it’s pretty hard just to wait by and see what if/might/maybe will happen ??

So I just got in my car, and peered through the rain, had a few sketchy moments when the car ran through puddles. And once I got to the Coast, all in all it was very anti-climatic.

Meanwhile I have family all trying to call me and tell me to run to higher ground, but it’s hardly even raining.

All the girls here at SculptLife, well we just got on with our day and had a very inspirational team meeting, goal setting, challenge creating, and had a good laugh.

I suppose you must just do get on with life this and thank the universe and be so grateful that we have the luxury to do so.

My heart goes out to all the people, who have lost their homes, their loved ones and all those who are still missing. It’s just hard to know what to do in the meantime – is it insensitive to get on with your day ? Or is it the coping mechanism we are given as humans?

Just in case you are out of area / out of the country , and haven’t seen this clip that’s been plastered all over the news – here’s Toowomba about 3 hours drive from us.

Personal Training Sunshine Coast Changed Heathers Life!

Heather Edwards 1st Runner Up : Womens CategorySunshine Coast Personal TrainingSunshine Coast Personal Training

Week 1

I hate looking in the mirror, I dread going to the beach.. at least to swim anyway.
I want to ‘love’ my body and I want more energy to run and enjoy life with my kids.
I want to swim this summer and not make excuses why I can’t!

 Week 4

I’m starting to feel great, training is getting easier and I’m getting less sore afterwards. I can’t wait to exercise !! My clothes are getting looser also and people are beginning to notice it around my legs and bum.
Absolutely I will keep going…. NOTHING will stop me !!

Week 8

“8 weeks ago I felt fat, frumpy, lethargic and …..well, depressed. I was in the grips of Post Natal depression for the second time, not a great place to be at all.
I knew it was time to do something just for me, so I called Sculpt Life again as they had helped me so much in the past.
I started with some Boot camp, felt the fire again and then ‘Your Best Body Challenge’ was on offer…..My competitive nature said ‘Hell Yes’, not to mention it was supporting a cause very dear to my heart, so I began…..

Heather receiving her YSM Body Bible and 8 Weeks of Group Training

I scheduled my workouts for each week, changed and monitored my diet, grabbed some protein powder, rounded up my sponsors and I was on my way.
I did two boxing sessions a week, at times a pump class, walked, rode, dug in the garden and hung out for my Saturday session with you guys.
I fell off the wagon after a hard week at home in week 5, dusted off, measured myself and with a 17.5cm loss I was back babyI have ended the challenge with a total loss of 24cm and 3 kg, increased muscle tone and strength, increased fitness levels, a new wardrobe (bye bye fat maternity clothes!) some much needed self esteem and over $150 in sponsorships for the beautiful bears!!

Exercise and my love for it have definitely kept me from ‘falling off the edge’. I haven’t felt proud of myself at all over the last year until now, I feel really proud of my efforts, my consistency and ultimately my success!
I still have a bit to go, however know what it takes to get there, I can see myself there and know that I have the goods to achieve it!!!
Thank you so much Sculpt Life for your knowledge, your support and your encouragement. I have loved every minute of it! (well, perhaps not the beach day…too hot for this little blood nut….spewing in the sand hills is so not a good look! HA!)”

Bec Wilkinson YBB 2nd Runner UpAn amazing effort Bec ! Well Done !

An amazing effort Bec ! Well Done !

Week 1

“Right now I don’t like the way I look. I do not own one item of clothing that I think I look ok wearing.

I hate having to put on my uniform to go to work, I hate wearing casual clothes on the weekends basically they are all my maternity clothes.

I am embarrassed wearing gym/work clothes and my pyjamas make me look like a sack of potatoes. I fell so ashamed when I go out in public with my husband and children I feel like I must be such an embarrassment to them. Losing weight would be nice, but most of all out of this challenge I would like to gain my self esteem.

Week 4

Yesterday I went to the local school oval and did intervals of running (sprints) and jogging around the oval. After 1 lap I wanted to stop but then I thought I would just run 1 more lap. After I finished that lap I went on to run a total of 5 laps. During my recovery time I did push ups, lunges and squat jumps and then did another 5 laps. I was so proud of myself, this was the first time that I was happy with me !

This has been a turning point in my life. I’ve had a taste of what it feels like to be proud of myself and to actually learn to love myself again.

This is going to be my motivation during every training session.

Week 8

I love to run ! I Can’t believe how great I feel after training now. I never thought I would be able to run for more than 100m. On Monday night I made my greatest achievement yet.

For the last 3 weeks I have been doing a walk/jog combo around the Shelley beach/kings beach headland. Previously I could complete this in 20 minutes. Monday night I walked about 100m then did intervals or sprints and jogging for the remainder.

I did it in 10 minutes.

It feels amazing to overcome a challenge. I have not worn any of my maternity or “fat” clothes in 4 weeks. On Saturday I went to the beach with Daniel and our babies. The old feelings of being ashamed and thinking that I was an embarrassment came flooding back. I wanted to cry. The old me would have went home and ate lots of chocolate and take out. You know what I did. I trained even harder, which is why I think I smashed my running time on Monday night.

This afternoon we went to the beach again, I did not feel any of the negative thoughts I had on Saturday.
I looked at myself tonight in my after photos and cried. I earned these results!

Rebecca Wilkinson lost 8.7 kg, lost 2 dress sizes and 28 cm’s !

Sunshine Coast Your Best Body Challengers – Hot Tips to Create Your Best Body!

Dear Challengers,

So you’ve past the half way mark! Fantastic! Its great to see so many of you still committed to and following through with your figure and fitness goals.
Like I said in my blog “En Route To Your Best Body”,    following through with your intentions means a lot more than you think.
Are you getting all your cardio and resistance sessions in?
Are you attending the Saturday session?
Are you following the nutrition tips and using the assessment tools in the YBB Guide?
If you’ve answered yes to all of the above and you’ve come this far – then give yourself a pat on the back! Good job for really applying yourself!

Here’s the big question – are you seeing the results you had hoped for?
If you answered yes, awesome- we couldnt be happier for you! If you answered no, then we might need to take a few steps back and think about why then show you how we can help!

1. Perhaps you have set some unrealistic goals for yourself -  you need to use your common sense when setting goals. For example having the genetics of Serena & Venus Williams and setting a goal to look like Miranda Kerr
in 8 weeks time is definately not realistic! (or possible, for that matter – you’re comparing elite athletes with super models!)
By now you’ve come far enough into the challenge to know what goals are  realistic for your genetics. Not only that but you should also have an idea about what goals are achieveable for you in 8 weeks time and
understand the implications of these goals on your lifestyle. So if you wanted to drop two dress sizes in 8 weeks, sure , its do-able! But you’d really have to work hard at it and make some big lifestyle changes. On the
other hand, you dont want to set goals that are too easy for you to achieve, then you’re just letting yourself off the hook and not challenging yourself.

2. If you did set realistic goals for yourself and you’re not seeing the results you’ve hoped for, sometimes the best medicine is to be 100% honest and ask yourself if you’ve really been giving it your best shot. Or have you been struggling with the same bad habits because you havent truly applied yourself? Are you letting yourself off the hook too often and then realise that after weeks of being really good on weekdays, then really bad on weekends that you’re still exactly where you were weeks ago? Are you skipping meals because you havent set aside the time to prepare them the day before? Are you ruining your hard work with too many ‘after work’ or weekend beers? Are you postponing your training too often because you’re  too tired from not eating well, staying up too late and not prioritising your goals? Is there nothing  - truly nothing at all that you could be doing better?

If you answered yes to any of these, or any other situations like these, then you’re not truly applying yourself, you’re not being 100% honest with yourself. Have a think about what is stopping you from doing what is necessary to achieve your goals and then ask yourself why? Once you understand the ‘why’ of what is happening its much easier to address what you need to do to fix the situation.

I guess it’s now dawning on you that there is a lot of work involved in shaping your Best Body and that shedding those stubborn kilos of fat is going to take a little more time that you initially thought. However, anything worth doing in life will take a bit of hard work and discipline – and I’m sure all you  will agree that shaping your ideal fit figure is definitely worth it!

THE SOLUTION : so if you’re struggling with getting to your goals (or you just really love training with Sculptlife and would like to see what else you can do) then take advantage of our special offer exclusively for Your Best Body Challengers – purchase two half hour  1 on 1 Personal Training sessions  for just $50!
